Foremost Golf, Titleist, FootJoy Partner for Retailer Experience Days
The fifth anniversary programme showcased product education and fitting demonstrations to 36 members and guests across three UK venues, aiming to enhance retail expertise.

Foremost Golf Marks Five Years of Retailer Engagement
Foremost Golf recently observed the fifth anniversary of its exclusive Experience Days, a strategic initiative delivered in collaboration with Titleist and FootJoy. These events aim to address the dual challenge of developing comprehensive product knowledge among retailers while nurturing strong customer relationships.
The programme involved three distinct events held at Hillside, North Hants, and Royal Porthcawl, which collectively hosted 36 Foremost members and their invited guests. Each session combined detailed product education, practical fitting demonstrations, opportunities for golf, hospitality, and networking, designed to provide tangible benefits for participating businesses.
Redefining Product Education and Fitting
A central tenet of the Experience Days is to transform product education from a passive presentation into an interactive experience. The curriculum included specialised Titleist golf ball fitting, in-depth wedge and putter education, and extensive long-game product training, alongside FootJoy FitLab fitting demonstrations.
This approach recognises that understanding a product’s technical specifications differs from knowing how to recommend it effectively to an individual golfer.
The programme encouraged retailers to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios, using interactive challenges, launch-monitor data, and peer competitions to build confidence in suggesting the most suitable equipment for diverse player profiles.
Building Stronger Retailer-Customer Connections
The initiative also leverages customer hospitality to strengthen commercial relationships, offering an experience that extends beyond transactional interactions. Foremost members can provide their most valued customers with access to leading golf brands, specialist product education, and the chance to play at established golf venues.
Anthony Dempsey of Beau Desert Golf Club described the experience as exceptional, noting the hospitality from Foremost, Titleist, and FootJoy, and the benefit of offering a memorable day to his guest.
James Davies of Oswestry Golf Club similarly highlighted the opportunity to provide a distinctive customer experience while gaining practical knowledge across various equipment categories.
Measuring Value in Collaborative Retail Programmes
The Foremost Experience Days exemplify a successful collaborative model involving a buying group, equipment suppliers, and independent retail businesses. Foremost provides its members with access to unique experiences and supplier expertise, while Titleist and FootJoy gain opportunities to demonstrate products and share fitting knowledge directly.
Retailers, in turn, can reward customers and develop crucial business skills. Andy Martin, Managing Director of Foremost Golf, stated the partnership strengthens customer relationships and product knowledge.
Spencer Manning, Titleist Head of Sales, confirmed plans to continue these events in 2027, underscoring the programme’s sustained value in retailer development, customer engagement, and commercial outcomes.
Potential for Asia's Golf Retail Sector
The collaborative model demonstrated by Foremost Golf, Titleist, and FootJoy offers a blueprint for golf retail development in Asia. Markets with significant golf participation and growing demand for premium equipment, such as South Korea, Japan, and parts of Southeast Asia, could benefit from similar initiatives.
Asian equipment distributors and buying groups might explore partnerships to create bespoke experience days, enhancing customer loyalty and improving fitting expertise among local retailers. Such programmes could be tailored to regional preferences, potentially launching pilot events in major golf hubs during 2027 to assess their impact on local sales and customer engagement.
