Srixon Unveils Refined ZXi Iron Line-up

Srixon has announced the second generation of its ZXi iron family, expanding the line-up to four distinct models. This release includes the ZXi7, ZXi5, the new ZXi5+, and the ZXiU utility iron, designed to deliver improved feel, stability, and ball speed across various player profiles.

The manufacturer states that advanced metallurgy, artificial intelligence, and direct input from tour professionals informed the development process. A central innovation across the new range is i-FORGED, Srixon’s latest advancement in iron manufacturing.

This process, carried out by Endo Manufacturing in Japan, combines "Condensed Forging" techniques with precise heat-softening procedures. This method selectively strengthens high-stress areas, such as the regions around each groove, to prolong clubface durability. Concurrently, it maintains a soft core, which Srixon says preserves its characteristic feel upon impact.

Joe Miller, Srixon European Product Manager, stated that every design choice, from materials to shaping, focused on enhancing feel.

AI-Driven Design for Performance and Feedback

Engineers employed artificial intelligence to refine the head construction for the new ZXi irons. The MainFrame iQ technology, present in the ZXi5, ZXi5+, and ZXiU models, utilises simulated impact scenarios. This approach allows for a reduction in face mass by up to eight percent.

The saved weight is then redistributed around the clubhead's perimeter, which increases the Moment of Inertia (MOI), boosts ball speed, and improves forgiveness on off-centre strikes. For the ZXi7 iron, Srixon incorporated PureFrame iQ. This technology enhances a forged ridge positioned directly behind the sweet spot.

Designed for accomplished ball-strikers, the expanded structure stiffens the impact zone. This minimises face deformation during impact and aims to deliver crisp, responsive feedback to the player. All models also feature Srixon's established sole geometry, which combines specific bounce angles and heel/toe notches for smooth turf interaction. The irons also feature thinner toplines and refined transitions, developed in collaboration with global tour players.

Expanded Range Targets Diverse Golfers

The new ZXi family offers specific designs for different player requirements. The ZXi7 serves as the low-handicap and tour-level iron, forged from soft S15C steel with tungsten weighting. This model focuses on maximum control, a compact shape, and shot workability.

The ZXi5 is positioned as a players performance iron, blending a sleek profile with elevated speed, forgiveness, and perimeter weighting. A significant addition is the ZXi5+, a new players distance iron that replaces the previous ZXi4 model.

This fully forged hollow-body design features stronger lofts, a slightly wider sole, and a longer blade length, all intended to provide increased distance. Srixon states the ZXi5+ bridges the gap between traditional players profiles and game-improvement distance irons, offering speed without compromising aesthetics.

The line-up concludes with the ZXiU, a high-launching utility iron engineered for versatility from both the tee and turf. Ryan Fox, a Srixon staff player, used ZXi7 irons and a ZXi5+ utility iron during his 2026 Open Championship victory at Royal Birkdale.

Availability and Pricing for Asian Markets

The new Srixon ZXi iron family will be available for pre-sale beginning on 2 October 2026. These irons will then reach retail stockists two weeks later, on 16 October 2026. The pricing for a six-piece set, available in either steel or graphite shafts, is set at £1,099 for the ZXi7, ZXi5, and the new ZXi5+ models.
