The Bengaluru Open is currently being contested at the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) in Bengaluru, with play scheduled from September 22 to 25. This fifth edition of the tournament offers a prize fund of ₹1 crore, drawing a field of 132 professional golfers alongside one amateur player.

The event provides a significant platform for both established and emerging talent within Indian professional golf, showcasing competitive play in one of the region's prominent golf cities. As the tournament progresses, attention will be on the leading contenders vying for the substantial prize money and valuable ranking points.

Key Players Compete for Bengaluru Title

Among the notable Indian professionals participating in the Bengaluru Open are Saptak Talwar, who currently leads the PGTI Order of Merit, Honey Baisoya, and Veer Ahlawat. The local contingent from Bengaluru includes Chikkarangappa S, Akshay Neranjen, Manoj S, Mari Muthu R, and Varun Muthappa, alongside the amateur Tanish R Gowda.

The tournament also features an international presence, with players such as Sri Lanka’s N Thangaraja and Mithun Perera, Thailand’s Tanapat Pichaikool, and Japan’s Koichiro Ishika and Taiga Tanaka.

Further international representation comes from the Czech Republic’s Stepan Danek, Nepal’s Subash Tamang, Bangladesh’s Md Akbar Hossain, and Uganda’s Joshua Seale, adding a diverse competitive element to the event.

Veer Ahlawat and Saptak Talwar, both competing in Bengaluru, are slated to represent India at the upcoming Asian Games in Japan. Meanwhile, Indian women recently concluded their campaign at the La Sella Open on the Ladies European Tour. Pranavi Urs finished tied 17th with a total of 2-under par, posting rounds of 69, 71, and 74. Avani Prashanth secured a tied 27th position at even par, with scores of 74, 72, and 70. The event, reduced to 54 holes due to weather, saw England’s Charlotte Heath claim the title at 10-under par.
