The International team has taken a significant 7-3 advantage over the United States in the Presidents Cup, following a decisive performance on day two. Played at Medina Country Club, the team achieved a complete sweep of all five foursomes matches on Friday, 26 September 2026.
This strong showing enabled the International squad to convert a 3-2 deficit from the opening day's fourball matches into a commanding lead. Captain Geoff Ogilvy noted the similarity to their performance in Montreal two years prior, where they also secured all points on the second day. This marks only the second time the International team has achieved a foursomes whitewash in the event's history.

Australians Adam Scott and Min Woo Lee played key roles in the International team's success. Scott, partnering with South Africa's Christiaan Bezuidenhout, secured a 3 and 2 victory over the American duo of Justin Thomas and Cameron Young.
Min Woo Lee, making his Presidents Cup debut, teamed with New Zealand's Ryan Fox to achieve a crucial 1 up win against Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark. Fox sealed their victory on the 18th green. These pairings contributed two vital points to the International team’s overall score, underscoring their effectiveness in the foursomes format.
Asia-Pacific Players Deliver Crucial Points
Further strengthening the International team's position were significant contributions from other Asia-Pacific players. The South Korean pairing of Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim delivered a 4 and 3 win over Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay. Sungjae Im, also from South Korea, combined with Japan's Hideki Matsuyama for a 3 and 2 victory against Russell Henley and Jacob Bridgeman.
Additionally, Canadians Corey Conners and Nick Taylor set the tone for the day with a 1 up victory against world number one Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, after trailing early in the tournament. These wins were instrumental in the team's clean sweep of the day's matches.

With 20 points still available over the remainder of the 13th Presidents Cup, the International team requires 18 points total to win, meaning they need to secure 11 more points from the remaining matches. Adam Scott acknowledged the excitement but cautioned against premature celebration, referencing a similar strong start in Canada two years ago.
The United States team now faces the challenge of collecting 12.5 points from the final three sessions to stage a comeback.
